The Ulthera® device is a cutting-edge technology that uses micro-focused ultrasound (Hifu) to firm and tone the skin by stimulating the production of collagen and elastin in the deeper layers of the skin, without the need for surgery. The ultrasound is focused on several layers of the skin at 1.5, 3 and 4.5 millimetres, the depth targeted by surgeons during a facelift.
One of the major features of the Ulthera® device is the integrated ultrasound imaging system. This unique feature (no other HIFU device has it) allows the practitioner to see exactly how deep the ultrasound is being directed during treatment. This offers a number of advantages: precision, safety and maximised results.
From the age of 30, Ultherapy can be considered to prevent sagging skin and slow down the ageing process. Between the ages of 40 and 60, when the loss of tone and firmness becomes noticeable, it provides a pleasant lifting effect and a more youthful, dynamic appearance.

During the session
Prior consultation with a doctor is essential to confirm the suitability of the treatment and to provide all the necessary information.
Before the treatment, the practitioner carefully cleans and disinfects the skin, then marks out the areas to be treated using a dermatological pencil. To guarantee the effectiveness of the treatment and maximise safety, the handpiece is connected to an ultrasound screen, enabling the therapist to monitor the depth of the treatment at all times. The Ulthera® stands out as the only Hifu device with this technology, which explains its notable success.
As the treatment may be uncomfortable, a prescription for painkillers or the use of a propofol-based gas may be appropriate.
Results
Immediately after treatment, a slight sensation of firming is noticeable. However, the real effects generally become apparent after around 3 to 6 months. This period is necessary for the body to generate its new collagen and elastin. The results develop gradually, respecting the natural structure of the face.
The result becomes definitive three to six months after the Ultherapy session. It lasts between 12 and 18 months.
It should be noted that the extent of the results may vary from one individual to another depending on factors such as age, skin quality, lifestyle and metabolism.
