Radiesse® is a calcium hydroxyapatite-based treatment that is effective in correcting the visible signs of ageing.
With age, the production of collagen and elastin diminishes, leading to the appearance of wrinkles and skin laxity. Radiesse® is used to prevent and correct these visible signs of skin ageing, without transforming the volumes of the face.
It works by stimulating the natural production of collagen and elastin by the skin's fibroblasts. This process of neocollagenesis restores firmness and tone to the skin, improving its quality and texture over the long term.
Benefits

During the session
Before the injection, the doctor begins by disinfecting the area to be treated to prevent any risk of infection. The injection is made using a fine cannula, directly under the dermis.
For greater comfort during treatment, Radiesse contains lidocaine, a local anaesthetic.
Results
The first effects appear a few weeks after the treatment, giving the body time to activate its collagen production. Results last for 10 to 12 months. Radiesse® degrades slowly, so it can be injected 1 or 2 times in the first year, then once a year to maintain benefits.
Recommendations
To restore loss of facial volumes, Radiesse® works wonderfully with injections of: hyaluronic acid. Both products can be injected during the same session.
On the neck or body, we strongly recommend combining it with Ulthera for optimum results.

Pre-treatment precautions
- To minimise the risk of bruising, it is advisable to avoid blood-thinning substances in the days leading up to your appointment. This includes anti-inflammatories, aspirin, and supplements such as turmeric, omega-3 and vitamin C.
Post-treatment precautions
- Avoid swimming pools (risk of infection), jacuzzis and saunas for 48 hours after treatment.

- Pregnancy and breastfeeding
- Known sensitivity to amide-type local anaesthetics (lidocaine, etc.)
- Skin infection, open wound or facial skin disease
- Sinusitis and fever
- Porphyria
