At the start of the treatment, the therapist begins by effleurage on the neck to activate the lymphatic system, before moving on to the specific area to be treated. Lymphatic drainage consists of a number of precise basic movements, performed with gentle pressure that gradually intensifies and diminishes. These techniques and their variations are applied rhythmically, repeating between three and five times.
