What is cryolipolysis (CoolSculpting®)?
Cryolipolysis is a non-invasive medical slimming method that consists of destroying localised fat cells through the controlled application of cold. Stage 1 - Medical consultation and personalised diagnosis
Before any intervention, a medico-aesthetic consultation with one of our specialists is compulsory. Your specialist analyses the areas to be treated, assesses your morphological profile and defines a made-to-measure protocol. This stage is essential to guarantee the safety and effectiveness of the treatment.
Stage 2 - Preparing the session
On the day of the treatment, the therapist prepares the area to be treated. A protective gel is applied to the skin before the applicator is fitted to protect the superficial tissues. You are left in a comfortable position for the duration of the procedure.
Stage 3 - Cryolipolysis treatment
The therapist places the CoolSculpting® suction applicator on the area to be treated. The device sucks in the bulge and holds it between two cooling panels that gradually extract the heat from the adipose tissue. Throughout the session, the temperature of the tissue is maintained at -11°C, a temperature scientifically proven to destroy adipocytes without damaging neighbouring tissues.
For the first few minutes, you will feel intense pressure and cold, a sensation that quickly subsides. The procedure generally takes 1 hour per zone. You can read, listen to music, check your e-mail or take a nap during the session.
Stage 4 - Post-treatment care
Immediately after cryolipolysis, localised redness and haematomas may appear in the treated area. Over the following 3 to 5 days, swelling, hardening and a temporary loss of sensitivity may be felt. These effects are transient, not systematic, and vary from patient to patient. No social eviction is necessary: you can resume your normal activities as soon as you leave the clinic.
