What is Sculptra® Body?
Sculptra® is a biodegradable medical injectable composed of poly-L-lactic acid (PLLA). Used in hyper-diluted concentrations for body treatments, it acts as a tissue inducer: once injected into the deep layers of the skin, it activates the body's natural processes to stimulate collagen production. Unlike traditional fillers, which add volume immediately, Sculptra® Body gradually restructures skin tissue.
According to the doctors at Forever Institut, Sculptra® body injections are particularly suitable for areas that have lost tone and firmness: the buttocks, inner thighs, inner arms and the tops of the knees. The effect is built up over several weeks, as the collagen is reorganised. Results are visible between 2 and 3 months after the session and reach their full effect between 6 and 9 months.

Sculptra® buttocks: the «Brazilian butt lift» without surgery
The most popular application for Sculptra® Body is the treatment of the buttocks. Using a specific protocol, Sculptra® injections provide genuine non-surgical body contouring: sagging buttocks are lifted, the shape is restored and the texture of the skin is improved. This result has earned the treatment its name of «Brazilian butt lift». The skin is redensified, firmer and more elastic, without implants or surgery.
Cellulite and sagging skin
Sculptra® Body effectively treats sagging skin and surface irregularities associated with cellulite. For fibrous cellulite, injections can be supplemented by subcisions performed under local anaesthetic, to release the fibrous adhesions responsible for the “orange peel” appearance and restore a regular contour to the treated area.

How does Sculptra® body injection work?
The poly-L-lactic acid contained in Sculptra® is a biocompatible biodegradable material that has been used for decades in surgery (absorbable sutures). Injected into the deep dermis, it is gradually broken down by the body - and it is precisely this breakdown that triggers the cellular response, namely the stimulation of collagen synthesis by fibroblasts. This process takes place over several weeks.
It is this gradual mechanism that explains both the natural look and the duration of the results. The effects of Sculptra® Body can last up to 24 to 36 months.
Collagen accounts for almost 75 % of the skin's composition. Its density gradually decreases from the age of 20. Sculptra® Body acts directly on this depletion mechanism to restore firmer, more toned skin.
Results and duration
The first visible results appear between 2 and 3 months. Improvement continues gradually up to 6 to 9 months after the session, as collagen neosynthesis takes place. The effects last up to 24 to 36 months.
The doctors at Forever Institut assess the number of sessions required and their intervals on a personalised basis: 1 to 3 sessions are generally indicated, but this varies for each person.

Prior medical consultation
One consultation with a Forever Institut doctor is compulsory before any Sculptra® body injection. The doctor will assess the areas to be treated, determine the indication, draw up the protocol and answer any questions you may have. This stage determines the safety and effectiveness of the treatment.
The injection session
The doctor disinfects the area to be treated and reconstitutes the injectable with sterile water and a local anaesthetic. The injection is then carried out using a cannula. For areas with fibrous cellulite, subcisions can be used to complete the session. Average duration: 90 minutes.

Pre-treatment precautions :
- Avoid anti-inflammatory drugs, aspirin, omega-3, turmeric and vitamin C in the days leading up to the session (increased risk of haematomas).
Post-treatment precautions :
- Avoid swimming pools, jacuzzis and saunas for 4 days
- Avoid sources of heat and intense cold for 15 days following the injection.
- Do not expose haematomas to the sun.

Is the Sculptra® body treatment painful?
To improve comfort, the session is carried out under local anaesthetic. The injectable is reconstituted with sterile water and an anaesthetic, and injected using a cannula. The average session lasts 90 minutes. Slight bruising or swelling may appear in the hours following treatment, but these effects are transitory and do not require any social eviction.
What is the difference between Sculptra® Body and a hyaluronic acid-based filler?
A hyaluronic acid-based filler provides immediate filling. Sculptra® Body works differently: it doesn't fill, it restructures. By stimulating collagen production, it improves skin quality and firmness over the long term. The effect is more gradual but more natural and longer-lasting. What are the contraindications to Sculptra® Body?
The main contraindications to Sculptra® Body are pregnancy and breastfeeding, a known allergy to amide-type anaesthetics (lidocaine), the presence of a skin infection or an open wound in the area to be treated, a history of foreign body granuloma or sarcoidosis, and porphyria. A prior medical consultation with Forever Institut is compulsory to assess the indication and confirm that there are no contraindications.
