The story of Forever Institut is intrinsically linked to that of Dr. Luigi Leonardo Polla. It’s a story of family, passion, innovation, ambition and, of course, beauty.
As a child, Luigi was already developing a remarkable flair for the aesthetic, fostered by poetry, the perfumes of rose gardens, the elegance of women and the Italian way of life. His love of women, beauty and creation would lead him to have four daughters with Barbara – his wife possessed of Venetian beauty – and build up four companies: a dermatology practice, a modern art gallery (Analix Forever), an aesthetic medicine institute and a cosmetic skincare line (Alchimie Forever).
Spurred on by ambition, Dr Polla chose to spend several years abroad, where he carried out his medical internships. In 1984, he left for the United States with his wife and children. Here, alongside Professor Rox Anderson, he discovered laser technology being used in a range of skincare treatments. Upon his return to Geneva in 1986, he opened his practice and immediately created a platform for laser treatments that was unique in Europe. With his success growing locally, patients began to come from around the world: Germany, Italy, England and even from as far afield as Mexico and South Africa. In 1987, a headline in the Swiss newspaper Le Matin asserted that he’s “the Doctor that saves your skin”, establishing his reputation as a pioneer in the field of aesthetic dermatology. His passion for his profession pushed him to work even harder and, even today, his unfailing zeal remains etched in the memory of his patients.
Being bold and driven by an entrepreneurial spirit and the desire to pass on the fruits of his work to his four daughters, Dr. Polla created Forever Laser Institut in 1997. Situated on the Rue du Rhône in the heart of Geneva, Forever became the first centre for aesthetic medicine in Switzerland. Today, Dr. Polla lets his therapist colleagues handle all the laser treatments so that he can concentrate solely on injection techniques and developing aesthetic treatments. This approach has seen the Institut constantly innovate over the last twenty years. Thanks to Dr. Polla’s vision and his thorough knowledge of the industry, the Forever team has tested, premiered and introduced in Switzerland no fewer than ten devices that have revolutionised the field of aesthetic medicine. This is also why Dr. Polla is invited to present at conferences around the world. The Softlift hyaluronic acid technique – created by Dr. Polla – was a crowning moment in his constant research for excellence in serving his clientele.
Over the years, Dr. Polla has directed the Insitut alongside his wife, Barbara, who has helped the business flourish thanks to being well-known by the media, her natural flair and her innate public relations skills. In 2004, Dr. Polla seized the opportunity to realise the dream of his student days, namely to move into the Tour du Molard in Geneva: 600m2 of treatment space and a team that continues to expand. Last, remaining true to his wish to pass on his work, he decided to hand on the shareholding of the Institut to his four daughters, while becoming an active member of the boards of directors of both Forever Institut and Alchimie Forever. Dr. Polla wants to remain an active part of the Institut, both in dermatology and in aesthetic medicine.
“When we would go out for walks, my mother would always find four-leafed clovers and loved to give them to me. She told me that they brought good luck.” Dr. Polla, Forever Institut.
