Testimony of Rachel Polla, CEO Forever Institut

Being scared to death of injections (surprisingly not for Botox), I never imagined that I would agree to have hyaluronic acid injected.

And yet, about a year before Forever opened in Lausanne, while we were looking for the 'perfect' hyaluronic acid that would enable us to offer a very natural lip treatment, the doctors begged me to be their first model... I already have naturally plump lips, so I was a little reluctant, but I gave in to help my team! A few weeks later, I was surprised to experience an allergic-type inflammatory reaction: my lips swelled up asymmetrically, a reaction that was as sudden as it was short-lived.

Four years later, as I'm approaching 40 and that episode is a distant memory, I wanted to try a hyaluronic acid injection in my cheekbones, as I felt they were starting to lose volume. The injection went very well, especially as I was hypnotised by one of our doctors. And yet, a few weeks later, I find myself having the same kind of reaction again. Whenever I'm ill or tired, I feel a slightly painful inflammation (this time it's mild, fortunately) in one or other of my cheekbones; fortunately, the sensation never lasts long.

Curious to understand what was happening to me, I went to ask our Medical Director and my father, Dr Luigi L. Polla. According to them, I'm one of the few people who can't tolerate hyaluronic acid - even though it's absorbable and already naturally present in our skin.

Here's what they recommend for people like me, who still want to age gracefully and preserve their beauty assets:

Injections of ProfhiloIt's a hyaluronic acid that doesn't contain the binding molecule BDDE, which can cause intolerance in some people. I tried it before I started injecting fillers, and I'll continue to treat myself to it once a year.

Make regular lightening peels (TCA) and Picosure Focus laser rejuvenation (Laser Picosure) to correct dark spots and maintain beautiful skin.

And then one day, when I notice that my cheeks and temples are starting to hollow out and my features are starting to pull back, I already know that I'll switch to the Microfat to restore the beautiful volumes of my face... The absolute advantage? With self-regenerative medicine, there's no risk of intolerance because the substance injected comes from our own cells.

What is Texas Face?

The term 'Texas Face' (sometimes also known as 'Texas Lift') was coined by a group of American beauty bloggers and has become a popular term on social networks. It corresponds to a new trend in medicine and cosmetic surgery: the "Texas Face". injections of hyaluronic acid and/or Radiesse to tighten the skin around the mandible, chin and neck. The aim is to restore or accentuate the angles which separate the neck from the lower face.

What does this have to do with Texas?

Texas is an American state with a very angular shape to its north, with clear right-angled borders with New Mexico and Oklahoma.

For whom and why?

The beauty of a face stands out best when the demarcation of the contour between the neck and chin is clearly defined. Or, over time, the chin recedes, the cheeks deepen and sag, and the jaw line recedes. If you look at the face in profile, you will notice that the angle formed between the chin and the neck has become rounder.
Another way to visualise the ageing of the face is by looking at the shape of the letters 'V' and 'A'. A young face is usually V-shaped, with prominent cheekbones and a thin, taut lower face. This is also known as the youth triangle. A face altered by age tends to take on an "A" shape (loss of volume towards the temples, formation of jowls, blurred contours, sagging double chin). The triangle becomes inverted.

The "Texas Face" injection technique is used to reshape the hollow areas of the face, especially the mandibular contour. This is how it works, Reverse the A into a V. This treatment is also very popular with young men and women who want to accentuate the demarcation between the face and neck, to enhance the beauty and character of their face.

Forever Institut - Dr Sophie Menkes

Recommendations

After the session, you should avoid massaging the face (drainage, hydrafacial, etc.) and sources of heat (sauna, hammam). As with any other type of aesthetic injection, Texas Face is not recommended during pregnancy or when breast-feeding.

The post Découvrez le Texas Face appeared first on Forever Institut.

Liv, 30 years old

"8 years ago I had an inflammatory reaction following a hyaluronic acid injection. Having realised that I was probably allergic to this product, I gave up the idea of having another injection. So I had to make do with Botox twice a year to prevent expression lines.

During my last visit to Forever Institut, the Doctor told me about Profhilo. Sceptical at first, I told her about my history with hyaluronic acid, to which she explained that Profhilo's very pure formula would suit me well. And she added that my skin needed a boost of hydration and collagen stimulation!

I'm quite sensitive to needles and was a bit worried about the pain, but I was pleasantly surprised. There are only 5 injection points per side of the face, the procedure is quick (15 minutes), and the Doctor pinched my skin lightly before injecting, which took away the discomfort of the needles.

Immediately after the injections, the 10 points form small bumps on the surface of the skin. After 24 hours, this effect has almost completely disappeared. The Doctor explained to me that this was normal, that this type of hyaluronic acid disperses naturally through the diffusion of body heat, and that this is how the desired natural and progressive result is obtained.

I had no allergic reaction to Profhilo. One week after the injection, I can already feel that my skin is denser, stronger and rehydrated. In 2 weeks I'm going back for my second session.

Thank you Forever "

The post Témoignage : J’ai testé le Profhilo appeared first on Forever Institut.

Do you know what a gummy smile is? Also known as a "gummy smile", it's when your gums are too visible when you smile. For some people, this can turn into a real complex. But the good news is that we have solutions!

What is a gummy smile?

A gummy smile is characterised by excessive exposure of the upper gums when smiling. This can be caused by a number of factors: overactivity of the upper lip lift muscle, excessive growth of the jawbone, or the shape and size of the teeth and gums.

How botulinum toxin can help you

Le Botox®Botulinum toxin, well known for its aesthetic applications, can be an effective solution for reducing the gummy smile. By injecting small quantities of botulinum toxin into the muscles responsible for the excessive lifting of the upper lip, this lifting can be reduced. The result: fewer visible gums when you smile!

The treatment is fast, minimally invasive, and the effects can last for several months. And the best part? You keep a natural smile, without a frozen effect.

Optimising results with hyaluronic acid

For an even more harmonious result, botulinum toxin injections can be combined with injections of: hyaluronic acid. in the lips. This slightly plumps up the upper lip, giving greater coverage to the gums when you smile. It's the perfect combination for a radiant smile!

What can we expect?

The effects of hyaluronic acid are instantly visible, those of Botox® generally begin to show after 7 to 10 days. You will notice that your lips are fuller and that your gums are less visible when you smile. The results of botulinum toxin last between 4 and 6 months, while those of hyaluronic acid can last up to a year.

Want to put a smile back on your face?

If your gummy smile is bothering you and you'd like to do something about it, don't hesitate to contact us. We'll be delighted to help you get back on track and regain confidence in your smile.

The post Envie de retrouver le sourire ? appeared first on Forever Institut.

Did you know that? Over a million people in Switzerland grind their teeth at night! It's called bruxism.

What exactly is bruxism?

This is the involuntary clenching or grinding of teeth, especially at night. The causes can vary: stress, dental alignment problems, etc. If left untreated, bruxism can cause tooth damage, facial pain and problems with the jaw joint. But the good news is that if you suffer from bruxism, injections of botulinum toxin into the jaw muscles can provide relief. What's more, this technique also helps to refine the lower face.

How botulinum toxin can help you

You probably know the Botox® for its aesthetic effects, but did you know that it can also be used for therapeutic reasons? By injecting small quantities of botulinum toxin into the masseter muscles (those of the jaw), muscle relaxation is achieved. The result is a reduction in the force with which you clench your jaws (don't worry, you'll still be able to chew normally), which greatly relieves tension. The treatment is fast, minimally invasive and the effects can last for several months.

And as a bonus, the aesthetic benefits

As well as relieving bruxism, this treatment helps to slim the jaw. Your face will look slimmer and more harmonious. Pretty cool, isn't it?

What can we expect?

The effects generally start to be felt after a few days. You'll notice that you grind your teeth less and, over time, that the lower part of your face becomes thinner. Results can last between 4 and 6 months, after which you can consider further injections if you wish.

The post Plus d’un million de personnes en Suisse grincent des dents la nuit appeared first on Forever Institut.

"I suffered from severe hair loss for a long time; my hair was thinning so much at the top of my head that my scalp was visibly bald. No haircut or hairstyle could hide it, and it became a bit of a complex.

I never wanted to take hormone treatment. So I resigned myself to it until the day I discovered the "PRP scalp" treatment at Forever. Since then, PRP has become a lifelong companion; it's the only approach that remains natural and non-invasive, that really treats, and that allows results to be stabilised and maintained over the long term.

I started with the "attack treatment" of 3 sessions every 2 weeks, and now I plan my maintenance sessions 3-4 times a year. The treatment is painful, but bearable because the injection session only lasts 20 minutes. I always plan to drink plenty of fluids before my appointment, so that the blood test doesn't leave me feeling dehydrated.

I recommend this treatment to all women who, like me, are suffering from embarrassing hair loss and are looking for a medical but natural 100% solution".

The post Témoignage : j’ai testé -et adopté- le « PRP cuir chevelu » appeared first on Forever Institut.

Pregnancy is a time of grace for some, discomfort for others... and change for everyone. Emotional, physiological and hormonal upheaval - to name but a few. If we're talking about skin for example: it undergoes changes in inflammatory reactivity, healing capacity and melanocyte activity (the cells that pigment the skin).

For this reason, some aesthetic medicine treatments are contraindicated for pregnant women. But not all.

Here is the opinion of Dr Luigi L. Polla, dermatologist and aesthetic doctor.

Whileno medical or aesthetic procedure is performed on a pregnant woman during her first trimester of pregnancyThe mother-to-be can resume certain forms of care as early as the second trimester:

Laser hair removal can be performed, but avoiding the face (where hair is hormone-dependent), abdomen and pubic area. No risk for laser hair removal from the arms and legs, for example.

I recommend taking care of your skin with gentle peels fruit acids (natural molecules obtained from lemons, sugar cane, almonds, etc.). Skin cleansing with the Hydrafacial device is also beneficial for preventing pimples from breaking out.

Self-regenerative aesthetic medicine is also an approach that is compatible with pregnancy and breastfeeding. By drawing on your own body's (autologous) resources, you avoid any risk of inflammation or intolerance to an injectable product of synthetic origin. For example, by centrifuging a small sample of your own blood, we obtain a regenerating elixir called PRP (your platelet-enriched plasma). Once injected into your skin, PRP stimulates the activity of its cells and induces self-regeneration of the tissues. The result: fewer dark circles and smoother, healthier-looking, more radiant skin.

And to feel good about your body: Manual lymph drainage is very popular. Done once or twice a week, they prevent water retention, soothe heavy legs and prevent cellulite from getting worse.

Treatments not carried out during pregnancy

Laser tattoo removal,

aesthetic injections of Botox and hyaluronic acid,

Vitamin A masks for acne,

deeper peels such as TCA and Amelan, Plex-R, Genius...

Do you have any questions? Talk to one of our doctors.
