Botulinum toxin

Botulinum toxin injections (Botox®) smooth out expression-induced wrinkles and treat hyperhidrosis.

What is it ?

Botulinum toxin type A (Botox®) is a naturally occurring protein produced by the bacteria Clostridium botulinum. When injected, Botox ® induces muscular relaxation in the targeted areas. This procedure reduces visible facial expression lines that may convey fatigue or bitterness, resulting in a serene and fresh appearance. A simple solution for great results! The upper part of your face and eyes look lifted.

What is the procedure ?

The doctor carries out a detailed examination of the patient's facial anatomy and muscle tone before injecting botulinium toxin (Botox®) in the pre-determined points. The procedure lasts about 30 minutes and 2 weeks afterwards, a follow-up appointment is recommended.

What can be treated ?

  • Vertical lines between the eyebrows (frown lines)
  • Expression-induced wrinkles
  • Hyperhidrosis (excessive sweating)

Results ?

A relaxed face, a rested appearance and a smoother skin; full Botox® benefits will appear 24 hours to 5 days after the treatment.

Number of sessions ?

The effects of Botox® usually last around 4 months and fade away gradually. To prolong its benefits, the treatment may be repeated every 4 to 6 months.

Side effects ?

Momentary reversible side effects can occur during the first few days following the injection, such as asymmetry and eyelid drop. Other side effects have also been observed such as bruising, redness, headache, dizziness and nausea.
