Lymphatic drainage

Lymphatic drainage is a soothing manual massage that treats cellulite, drains excess water, and reinforces the immune system.

What is it ?

The lymphatic system drains excess fluid and toxins that accumulate in tissues and organs. It transports water, proteins, lipids, white blood cells, hormones, nutrients and waste into the blood stream. A swift and regular lymphatic flow leads to a fast and efficient metabolism. On the other hand, a deficient lymphatic circulation may weaken and intoxicate the body, creating various health issues such as swelling, weight gain, skin problems, premature ageing, pain etc. With a succession of gentle, rhythmic and pumping movements, lymphatic drainage facilitates cleansing, detoxification and decongestion. At Forever Laser Institut, therapists perform Dr Vodder’s and Dr Asdonk's methods of manual lymphatic drainage.

What is the procedure ?

The therapist “opens” the lymphatic system with gentle circular strokes in the head and neck region. The massage moves slowly down the body and continues to clean out toxins throughout the system. The path of the patient's lymphatic circulation is followed using increasing and decreasing levels of pressure. The various moves are repeated rhythmically 3 to 5 times. A session lasts between 30 and 60 minutes according to the patient’s need.

What can be treated ?

• cellulite
• water retention
• heavy legs
• swelling
• healing

Results ?

The lymphatic drainage purifies and regenerates the body, accelerates healing and reduces the risk of infection. A general feeling of wellbeing and lightness. All its benefits are visible through a more radiant skin and a slimmer silhouette.

Number of sessions ?

4 to 6 lymphatic drainages are recommended, once or twice a week. The frequency then depends on each patient’s needs.
