Varicose veins are usually sinuous, dilated veins that affect women more than men. They are frequent, appear with ageing and usually appear on the legs. There are various causes to the appearance of varicose veins; obesity, pregnancy, prolonged standing position, menopause, heat, sun, etc... Varicose veins are treated by laser or sclerosis if they are superficial and small in diameter. Otherwise, there is the option of surgery.
