See alpha hydroxy acids. Present in milk. Already used by Cleopatra who bathed in it to soften her skin whilst waiting for Caesar. Used to moisturise the epidermis as well as in combination with other molecules in formulas for superficial peels. It dissolves the stratum corneum's intercellular bridge. It also enables faster desquamation of damaged corneocytes and better moisturising of the rest of the skin. The result is smooth and radiant skin.
