Fat represents 25% of the body weight in women and 10 to 15% in men. In fact, the fat found under the skin is twice as thick in women as in men. On the female body, fat is mainly distributed on the lower part: stomach, buttocks, hips and thighs. This is known as a gynoid morphotype. In men, fat gathers especially around the nape, neck, shoulders thorax, and above the navel. This is an android morphotype. The fat is contained in the fat cells, which are very active cells whose physiological and pathological behaviour continues to be explored and offers a number of surprises.
