Epidermis

Epidermis is the skin's superficial layer in contact with the outside. The epidermis is made up of a number of layers of cells that, by gradually coming back up to the surface, harden and form the stratum corneum that then eliminates itself in the form of small flakes of "dead skin" (which you find on the sides of the bath if you take a bath).
