Chloasma

Chloasma is the result of an over-production of melanin.  Frequently observed in pregnant women (with darker skin) or women taking the pill, chloasma appears as irregular hyperpigmented areas most often found on the face (upper lip, cheek, and forehead). Chloasma is also known as melasma.
