Brown spots are pigment marks. Some, such as solar Lentigo, appear on the back of the hands, on the face, the neckline and on men's heads. Genetic predisposition plays a role in the appearance of solar lentigos, but perhaps not as much as prolonged exposure to the sun. Brown spots also include beauty spots, chloasma, café au lait spots. In certain cases, brown spots can be the sign of a future pathology. It is then best to consult a dermatologist to reach the right diagnosis.
