Botox® is the most common word used for botulinum toxin. It is in fact a registered trademark belonging to Allergan. This is a product that alleviates muscle contraction. The principle of injecting Botox® is not to fill in wrinkles but to decrease the hyper-tonicity of muscles in order to smooth out lines. Botox® offers remarkable results on expression-induced wrinkles: forehead wrinkles, brow furrows, crow's feet, but it can also be injected in other parts of the face and body. Results can be observed 2 to 8 days after the session and lasts 3 to 6 months. Botox® is now used to open up and to give a more youthful appearance around the eyes.
